The “Scary Canary” Halloween Bash

Halloween Party at The Red Canary, Post-Party Brunch on Sunday

The Red Canary will host the “Scary Canary” Halloween party on Saturday, October 29 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Be sure to don your spookiest, funniest, most creative or very hilarious costume for a chance to win the $1,000 cash first place prize. The “Scary Canary” costume contest will be held at 1 a.m., and the costumes will be judged by crowd applause. Prizes will also be awarded to the second and third place winners. Party guests may spend the evening dancing to Halloween hits, mash ups, old school and hip hop beats spun straight from the DJ.

Dinner service at the gastro-lounge will be available beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Brunch will be offered the following day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please call The Red Canary or visit Open Table for reservations (walk-ins are welcome).

The Red Canary will fete two great years in Chicago with a different $2 offering each day. The celebratory week will culminate with a two-hour hosted bar and appetizer reception on Saturday, August 27 ($20 per person).

The Red Canary will kick off the new year with a new brunch menu by Chef de Comfort Neal Harper. The offerings include breakfast and lunch dishes, from Benedicts to Belgians and Burgers. The Red Canary’s real American comfort fare will pair well with all-you-care-to-enjoy bloody marys (and mimosas) in celebration of “National Bloody Mary Day”. The complete brunch menu is outlined below.

Bootlegger’s Ball: Vegas Edition

New Year’s Eve at The Red Canary

9:00pm-2:00am, $75 per person or $125 per couple

Vegas, baby. This year, The Red Canary’s annual “Bootlegger’s Ball” New Year’s Eve bash will have a bordello-like, Las Vegas spin to the spirited soiree. There will be two floors of (play money) casino gaming: two craps tables, three blackjack tables and one roulette table, complete with dealers. Each guest will receive $5,000 in gambling “money” upon arrival and the individual that collects the most winnings will be awarded an 42″ HD flat screen television (many other prizes will be given out throughout the night).

Complimentary passed appetizers and DJ-spun music will kick-off the high-energy evening at 9:00pm, which is also the time the premium open bar begins (package ends at 1:30am). The top shelf bar service will include Red Bull, premium liquors and cocktails, beer, wine and shots. When it’s time to ring in 2011, champagne will be served, along with roarin’ 20s party favors. The fee per couple is $125.

Chef de Comfort Neal Harper has created a pre-party, New Year’s Eve dinner menu that is only available to those attending the “Bootlegger’s Ball: Vegas Edition” event. Reservations may be made between the hours of 7:00 and 8:00pm. The three course menu is priced at $25 per guest. (Hint: this is a great way to secure a booth or table for the night!)

Hollywood’s Dead: Halloween at The Red Canary

Deceased celebrities will come to life this Halloween eve at The Red Canary. On Saturday, October 30, the staff will be dressed as Hollywood’s elite from the bygone eras of the 1920s, 30s and 40s (think: Greta Garbo, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart). Party guests are welcome to don similar attire or wear a creative costume of their liking. Party hits, pop music and old school hip hop will fill the venue and at 1:00am, a costume contest will be held. First place is a whopping $1,000 cash prize, second place receives a $250 gift certificate and the third place winner will be set up with bottle service (prizes awarded to the crowd’s favorites).

The featured cocktail of “Hollywood’s Dead” is the Helter Skelter martini. Bartenders will shake up black cherry vodka, blue curacao and creme de casis for $8.
