Michael Diversey’s New Year’s Eve party will make for a fun and festive way to ring in 2012 – especially for craft beer fans. The neighborhood tavern, located in Lakeview, will offer celebrants two options for the evening: pay-as-you-go, cash bar service ($10 admission fee, starts at 9 p.m.) or the Celebration Package, which includes hors d’oeuvres, Red Bull cocktails, all draft craft beers, premium wine, bottled beer and mixed drinks from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. ($75 per person).

All revelers ringing in the new year will enjoy party favors, DJ-spun party hits and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Annual Subterranean New Year’s Eve Celebration in Streeterville

On Saturday, December 31, Timothy O’Toole’s Pub, located below-ground at Ontario and Fairbanks in Streeterville, will offer new year’s eve celebrants an affordable way to ring in 2012.

A $20 entry charge will include the choice of a “champagne of beers” (one 24-ounce Miller High Life tallboy) or a champagne split, along with a midnight appetizer buffet, karaoke, DJ-spun party hits and party favors. The live, televised countdown will be shown on over 75 screens throughout the Pub. This new year’s eve event will make for one of the best deals downtown.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at ZED451

This New Year’s Eve weekend, ZED451 will celebrants an elaborate, multi-course dinner in the main dining room, along with a premium party package in the Fireside Lounge, followed by a bountiful brunch on New Year’s Day.

On Saturday, December 31, ZED451’s New Year’s Eve dinner experience will be offered for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).  The menu will include unlimited selections from the seasonal Harvest Tables, a lavish raw bar, an abundance of chef’s entrees served tableside and mini pastries for dessert.  In addition, each guest will receive a complimentary flute of champagne to toast to 2012.  Table reservations will be accepted between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. and may be made through Open Table or by calling (312) 266-6691.

ZED451’s New Year’s Eve party package will be offered in the cozy, Fireside Lounge from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Revelers ringing in the new year will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, a deluxe open bar (blueberry gin mojito, spiced apple sangria, premium spirits, wine, imported and domestic bottled beer), party favors, DJ and midnight champagne toast. Tickets for the bar package are $95 per guest (includes tax and gratuity) and may be purchased by calling the restaurant at (312) 266-6691 or by visiting BrownPaperTickets.com.

The following day, ZED451 will start off the new year with an unforgettable brunch experience. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, January 1, dining guests may partake in a mid-day meal that includes a bounty of breakfast and lunch selections. Brunch is $29 per person (plus tax and gratuity), mimosas will be offered for $3 and house-made bloody marys, complete with gourmet garnish, will be $5 each. Returning guests that purchased the New Year’s Eve dinner or party package will receive bottomless bloody marys at brunch.

New Year’s Day is all about football, and ZED451’s 80-foot screen will show every play of the games (including our own Chicago Bears taking on the Minnesota Vikings at noon). From 10 a.m. to midnight, the Fireside Lounge will feature $5 ZED burgers and $3 pints of beer, in addition to the full “Cravings” menu (pad Thai tacos, char-grilled sirloin salad, calamari fries, house-cured duck pastrami Reuben sliders, maple Cajun BLT, spiced chicken samosas, Aegean flatbread and more).

On Saturday, December 31, ZOCALO Restaurant and Tequila Bar will host a festive fete that includes three celebratory dining and beverage choices: traditional a la carte dinner service, a dinner and drinks package (with three courses, specialty cocktails, live music, DJ, dancing and Midnight tequila toast) and a three-hour, bar only package.

Dinner and Drinks Package
With seatings offered at both 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the create-your-own, three course dinner will include any appetizer, entree and dessert from Zocalo’s special New Year’s Eve dinner menu. This dinner package also includes beer, house wine and margaritas (traditional, passion-mango, blood orange, prickly pear or hibiscus flower). The price is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Three Hour Drink Package
For those looking to simply enjoy cocktails, a three-hour bar package will be offered from 9:00 p.m. – Midnight. The libations include beer, house wine and margaritas (traditional, passion-mango, blood orange, prickly pear or hibiscus flower). This option is priced at $30 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

The Latin band “Jugo de Mango” will perform live, starting at 9 p.m., followed by a DJ spinning Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms until 2 a.m. As the clock strikes midnight, a Don Julio tequila toast and party favors will be enjoyed by all. Zocalo will offer a cash bar until 2 a.m. and Don Julio drink specials will be featured all night.

Bootlegger’s Ball III: Vegas Edition

This New Year’s Eve marks the third annual “Bootlegger’s Ball” at The Red Canary. Following in past tradition, the evening will embody a Vegas-like feel complete with two floors of (play money) casino gaming: three blackjack tables, two craps tables and one roulette table, complete with dealers.

Upon arriving, guests wishing to “strike-it-rich” will receive $5,000 in gambling money. The individual that collects the most winnings by the end of the night will be awarded a 42-inch plasma HD flat screen television! Other gamblers don’t dismay, many other prizes will be given out throughout the night.

Complimentary passed appetizers and DJ-spun music will kick-off the high-energy evening at 9 p.m., which is also the time the premium open bar begins (package ends at 3 a.m.). The top shelf bar service will include Red Bull, premium liquors, cocktails, beer, wine and shots. As 2012 approaches, a complimentary champagne toast will be served, along with roarin’ 20s party favors. The fee per couple is $150, individual guests are $80.

For revelers looking to dine before getting lucky in the casino, Chef Daniel Tolentino has created a pre-party, “Golden Nugget” dinner menu that is only available to those attending the 2011 “Bootlegger’s Ball: Vegas Edition” bash. Table reservations may be made between 7 and 8 p.m. The four course menu is priced at $30 per guest. (Hint: this is a great way to secure a booth or table for the entire night!)

“Sunday ’til Sundown” at Elate

A Sophisticated Way to Watch the Bears Play

Stop in for brunch and stay for the game, as Elate restaurant in River North launches their “Sunday ’til Sundown” brunch party. On Sunday, November 20, Elate will offer Bears fans a sophisticated setting in which to watch the Monsters of the Midway play the San Diego Chargers (kick-off is at 3:15 p.m.).

Chef Michael Noll’s brunch menu will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring savory items, from Breakfast Pizzas to Braised Pork and Egg Tostadas, as well as sweet dishes, such as Crème Brulee Pancakes and Crispy French Toast. Bloody Marys (made with housemade mix and garnished with smoked onions, smoked pickles, blue cheese stuffed olives), Blueberry and Orange Mimosas (made with fresh squeezed juices) and Mango Mojitos will be available for $7 each. Bottomless mimosas will be offered for $20 with purchase of an entree. The complete weekend brunch menu is outlined below.

Starting at 2 p.m., DJ Lash will spin cutting-edge sounds as guests gear up to watch the Bears home game against the Chargers. Elate’s swanky “Skybox” room features a big screen HD TV with state-of-the-art speakers and seating for 20, while the spacious lounge area offers two HD TVs and a large projection screen. Watch all the action while enjoying high-end bar food (select menu after 4 p.m. will offer the Elate Burger, Mussels, Flatbreads and more), along with craft cocktails and premium, organic bottle service. Following the game, DJ Lash will spin until 8 p.m.

Elate restaurant, located in the heart of River North’s dining and entertainment district, welcomes pre-Thanksgiving partiers for late night bites, cocktails and live entertainment on Black Wednesday, November 23.

From 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., a DJ will spin creative, cutting-edge sounds paired with musical stylings by a local jazz artist. Libations include custom, craft cocktails and a unique bottle service menu featuring six organic options. All sharable spirits will arrive with appropriate mixers, garnishes and glassware.
