Are you ready for some football? On Sunday, February 5, both Timothy O’Toole’s Pubs (City/Streeterville and Suburbs/Gurnee) will hold an action-packed, Super Bowl 46 viewing party. While the New York Giants battle the New England Patriots, guests may partake in either of the following events:

19 days ’til kickoff! On Sunday, February 5, Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club invites you to celebrate the spirit of the Super Bowl. The entire day, from brunch to dinner and drinks, will feature a “Madonna-rama” party in light of her highly anticipated, half-time performance.

Diva Madam X will star as Madge in Kit Kat’s very own “half-time performance” during brunch service (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), where free-flowing mimosas, sangria and bloody marys will be featured for only $10 with the purchase of a brunch entree. The martini menu will be offered at half-price ($6, regularly $12).

Once Super Bowl 46 begins, Diva Kinley Preston will “vogue” her way around the venue and continue the “Madonna-rama” celebration well into the night. Footballs fans will watch the gridiron action on seven state-of-the-art screens, while sipping half-price martinis ($6 each, regularly $12).

The specialty cocktail for Super Bowl Sunday is The M.D.N.A Martini (Effen Cucumber, Hpnotiq, Harmonie, St. Germain with a splash of sprite). Madonna DVDs, CDs and posters from Border Line Music will be given away during both brunch and nighttime events.

Blackhawks vs Red Wings Viewing Party at Michael Diversey’s

Detroit “Wing” Eating Contest, Memorabilia Raffle, United Center Excitement in a Neighborhood Tavern

Michael Diversey’s Tavern, an official Chicago Blackhawks bar, is bringing you all the fun of a United Center home game right to the cozy Lakeview bar. On Friday, December 30, the Hawks-theme party starts when the exciting, introduction video plays and the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Watch Chicago take on Detroit while enjoying $3 Bud Light bottles, $15 buckets of brews, $5 23-ounce “stadium sized” Bud Lights and $5 Ketel One cocktails.

The game wouldn’t be complete without Michael Diversey’s goal celebrations that include the United Center horn, Chelsea Dagger, goal lights and rally videos. Adding more fun to the party and insult to the Red Wings, Michael Diversey’s will host a girls and guys “wing” eating contest at the first and second period breaks, with a final “wing” eat-off after the game. Prizes will include a Patrick Sharp signed puck, Ben Smith signed hat and other Blackhawks memorabilia (including hats, mirrors and more). The evening will also include a raffle for a signed Michael Frolik Blackhawks jersey.

Game On at ZED451

NFL Football in the Fireside Lounge

Gear up, Bear down and enjoy every play of the game in the Fireside Lounge at ZED451. On both Sundays and Mondays, the cozy, ski lodge-like setting is  the perfect “sports cave” for viewing football games. With an 80-foot big screen, gourmet bites, stellar beer list and sporty specials, ZED451 has football fans covered.

Beer selections include $3 pints of Goose Island Green Line, Goose Island Matilda, Fat Tire, Victoria, Metropolitan Krankshaft, Bells Best Brown, Bells Christmas, Darke Horse Amber Ale, Finch’s Threadless, Dogfish 90 and Stella Artois.

Pair the pints with $5 ZED Burgers (grilled 8-ounce Angus burger on homemade pretzel bun with butter pickles and pickled shallots, or with maple Cajun bacon and choice of cheese).

Pigskin season specials run on Sundays and Mondays (Sunday 10 am. to 1 a.m. and Monday 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.). Full dinner and weekend brunch service will be offered in the main dining room. ZED451’s “Cravings” a la carte menu will also be available to Fireside Lounge guests.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at ZED451

This New Year’s Eve weekend, ZED451 will celebrants an elaborate, multi-course dinner in the main dining room, along with a premium party package in the Fireside Lounge, followed by a bountiful brunch on New Year’s Day.

On Saturday, December 31, ZED451’s New Year’s Eve dinner experience will be offered for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).  The menu will include unlimited selections from the seasonal Harvest Tables, a lavish raw bar, an abundance of chef’s entrees served tableside and mini pastries for dessert.  In addition, each guest will receive a complimentary flute of champagne to toast to 2012.  Table reservations will be accepted between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. and may be made through Open Table or by calling (312) 266-6691.

ZED451’s New Year’s Eve party package will be offered in the cozy, Fireside Lounge from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Revelers ringing in the new year will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, a deluxe open bar (blueberry gin mojito, spiced apple sangria, premium spirits, wine, imported and domestic bottled beer), party favors, DJ and midnight champagne toast. The following day, ZED451 will start off the new year with an unforgettable brunch experience. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, January 1, dining guests may partake in a mid-day meal that includes a bounty of breakfast and lunch selections. Brunch is $29 per person (plus tax and gratuity), mimosas will be offered for $3 and house-made bloody marys, complete with gourmet garnish, will be $5 each. Returning guests that purchased the New Year’s Eve dinner or party package will receive bottomless bloody marys at brunch.

New Year’s Day is all about football, and ZED451’s 80-foot screen will show every play of the games (including our own Chicago Bears taking on the Minnesota Vikings at noon). From 10 a.m. to midnight, the Fireside Lounge will feature $5 ZED burgers and $3 pints of beer, in addition to the full “Cravings” menu (pad Thai tacos, char-grilled sirloin salad, calamari fries, house-cured duck pastrami Reuben sliders, maple Cajun BLT, spiced chicken samosas, Aegean flatbread and more).

“Sunday ’til Sundown” at Elate

A Sophisticated Way to Watch the Bears Play

Stop in for brunch and stay for the game, as Elate restaurant in River North launches their “Sunday ’til Sundown” brunch party. On Sunday, November 20, Elate will offer Bears fans a sophisticated setting in which to watch the Monsters of the Midway play the San Diego Chargers (kick-off is at 3:15 p.m.).

Chef Michael Noll’s brunch menu will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring savory items, from Breakfast Pizzas to Braised Pork and Egg Tostadas, as well as sweet dishes, such as Crème Brulee Pancakes and Crispy French Toast. Bloody Marys (made with housemade mix and garnished with smoked onions, smoked pickles, blue cheese stuffed olives), Blueberry and Orange Mimosas (made with fresh squeezed juices) and Mango Mojitos will be available for $7 each. Bottomless mimosas will be offered for $20 with purchase of an entree. The complete weekend brunch menu is outlined below.

Starting at 2 p.m., DJ Lash will spin cutting-edge sounds as guests gear up to watch the Bears home game against the Chargers. Elate’s swanky “Skybox” room features a big screen HD TV with state-of-the-art speakers and seating for 20, while the spacious lounge area offers two HD TVs and a large projection screen. Watch all the action while enjoying high-end bar food (select menu after 4 p.m. will offer the Elate Burger, Mussels, Flatbreads and more), along with craft cocktails and premium, organic bottle service. Following the game, DJ Lash will spin until 8 p.m.

Timothy O’Toole’s Pub will hold a Sam Adams beer tasting on Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m. Participating guests will not only be educated on Sam Adams seasonal brews, but will also enjoy perfectly paired bites with each sudsy sample.

The event, led by a Sam Adams representative, will feature:

Octoberfest paired with seasonal sausage platter

Cherry Wheat paired with mini BBQ brisket sandwich with cherry BBQ glaze

Harvest Pumpkin paired with potato gnocchi with pumpkin mascarpone cream and toasted pepitas

Boston Lager paired with pork tenderloin with blue cheese crusted potato and spiced apples

Cream Stout paired with flourless chocolate cake with raspberry coulis
