Rock Bottom Brewery will kick-off the Fall season with their annual Rocktoberfest celebration, complete with German brew, menu specials and, of course, oom pah pah music. On Thursday, September 15, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., the evening will be filled with fun, Bavarian-themed events to attend.
Brewmaster Chris Rafferty will tap a Marzen-style German brew, Rocktoberfest, at 6 p.m. He will lead the Rock Bottom “Mug Club” (free to anyone 21+, sign up on premise) in a tasting and discussion of his new brew. Beer fans will donate through drinks, as one dollar of every Rocktoberfest pint ($5.50) purchased from 6-10 p.m. will be donated directly to the BuildOn organization. A raffle will be held to raise funds for the charity.
To set the authentic, celebratory tone, the Bratwurst Brothers German polka band will play live from 5-7 p.m. Also taking to the stage this evening is Seth Bradley from 7-9 p.m. and Tim Stopulous from 9-11 p.m.
For well over a month, a special menu featuring Bavarian dishes with a twist will be available from September 13 – October 23 at both lunch and dinner service (knockwurst, rueben bites, pretzel bites, spaetzle, German potato salad, German chocolate cake).
BuildOn is a non-profit organization that empowers primarily urban U.S. high school students through in-class and intensive after school youth service programs. In addition to tremendous contributions of community service in their own cities and neighborhoods, BuildOn youth actually build schools and bring literacy to children and adults in developing countries around the world. BuildOn programs are designed to build confidence and real-world capabilities in American youth while also empowering communities world-wide in Africa, South America, and South East Asia to overcome the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and low expectations by opening the door to education.
