$25, includes seat at the contest table and souvenir shirt
(entire fee donated to Chicago Canine Rescue)
How many hot dogs can you eat in only three minutes? Find out for fun, and for a good cause, on Wednesday, July 13 at Franklin Tap. The Loop restaurant and tap will welcome Chicago Canine Rescue and fellow attendees for “Dawgs for Dogs,” a hot dog eating contest complete with on-site pet adoption, raffle prizes and plenty of good feelings.
The eating contest winner will be announced by event emcee and pet expert, Steve Dale (syndicated radio host and columnist), and will receive – what else – a hot dog grilling package (grill, utensils, hot dogs, and more). Summer-theme raffle prizes will be awarded, including grills, beach chairs, gift baskets and gift certificates. Imported bottled beers will be $4 (fifty-cents from each sold will be donated to CCR).
Chicago Canine Rescue will be on site discussing their mission and introducing some of the pets they currently have available for adoption. Spectators (free to attend) are more than welcome to come by and pet a few pooches, enjoy a brew and cheer on the competitive eaters. The event starts at 6 p.m.
