Russian Imperial Stout Debuts on Draft, Master Fromager Pairs with Pints

Blokes & Birds is pleased to announce they will be the first drinking establishment in the State of Illinois to have a draught handle of 2011 Russian Imperial Stout by Stone Brewing Co. The contemporary English gastropub, located in Lakeview, will offer the highly sought-after brew (taps May 2) in pints for $9.

In addition to the exciting brew news, and also taking place on Monday, May 2, Stone Brewing Co. Ambassador Aaron Tyrell and Master Fromager Coleen Graham will lead an eight-course beer and cheese pairing event. This informative tasting includes Stone Brewing Co. beer samples, artisinal American cheese pairings and a souvenir Stone Brewing Co. taster glass to take home.

Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch in North County San Diego, CA. Their big-character beers have led them to become the 15th largest craft brewery in the United States. Named “All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth” by BeerAdvocate magazine, the company is currently working to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewery in Europe.
