Mexican Independence Day Dining at Salsa 17

Salsa 17 Mexican Grill in downtown Arlington Heights will celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a four course menu featuring the authentic flavors of Mexico. Chef Jose Luna has created a special multi-course feast (menu below) available during lunch or dinner from Thursday, September 16 to Sunday, September 19. The set menu also includes two paired libations.

Mexican Independence Day (September 16) is a national holiday in Mexico, celebrated with fiestas full of food and drink.  This year, Mexico will celebrate 200 years of independence from Spain.

Lime and orange marinated red snapper mixed with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and cucumbers in an orange tomato juice

Tamal de Pollo con Salsa Verde
Tamal stuffed with shredded chicken basted in a tomatillo chile serrano salsa topped with queso enchilado and crema

Plato Principal/Entree

Cambo Plate of Cochito y Chile Aji Amarillo Rellenos con Cola de Langosta
Oven roasted pork loin marinated with chile ancho adobo, stuffed ahí chile with lobster tail and asadero cheese and tomato tequila sauce, served with refried pinto beans and radish salad with nopales


Pudín de Plátano
Banana bread pudding flavored with crema de tequila baked in banana leaf, topped con vanilla bean sauce
