Raffle tickets on sale from Tuesday, June 1 through Friday, June 25
Winner announced Friday, June 25 at 9 p.m. (winner must be present)
New Belgium Brewing Company, the cult craft beer maker out of Fort Collins, Colorado, was born as its founder toured European beer capitals on a bicycle. The wildly popular Belgian-style ale known as Fat Tire was one of the first products of that fateful trip, so the lore of two-wheeled transportation looms large for New Belgium. Timothy O’Toole’s, the Streeterville pub known for its outstanding beer selection, is teaming up with New Belgium to give one lucky winner a customized bike in honor of the company’s origins.
Each year New Belgium Brewing Company hosts the Tour de Fat, a cross-country extravaganza of bicycles. The 2010 event will kick off in Chicago on Saturday, June 26 at Palmer Square Park in Logan Square. The revolution revelry will include a bike parade, performances and more bike-centric celebrating.
Starting Tuesday, June 1 and continuing through Friday, June 25, bike lovers can enter to win a tricked-out Tour de Fat bicycle at Timothy O’Toole’s Streeterville location. Just by buying a pint of New Belgium Fat Tire for $5 each, guests will receive a raffle ticket (one for every beer purchased) for the coveted two-wheeled prize. The winner will be announced at O’Toole’s at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 25, just in time for the Chicago Tour de Fat stop. The victor must be present at O’Toole’s to pick up their brand-new bicycle.
Timothy O’Toole’s is open Monday through Friday 11-3 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10-3 a.m.
