As we usher in the season of backyard barbecues, picnics in the park and outdoor concerts, our grape tastes tend to lighten up. Get acquainted with what you’ll be sipping this spring and summer during a Spring Whites wine tasting held at D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lincoln Park. Led by sommelier Greg Sorrell, D.O.C. Wine Bar’s monthly wine tastings, which take place the third Monday of every month, traverse many of the world’s top wine-growing regions, giving seasoned oenophiles and budding connoisseurs alike a chance to survey varietals from across the globe.
On Monday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m., D.O.C. Wine Bar will showcase a selection of Spring Whites, highlighting such popular varietals as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay and branching out into more esoteric grapes like Viognier and Gewurztraminer.
The eight wines to be featured during the Spring Whites tasting include Trefethen Chardonnay, Whitehall Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer and Darioush Viognier.
The cost of D.O.C. Wine Bar’s monthly wine tastings is $35 per person, which includes samples of eight wines and lively, grape-centric discussions. Please call D.O.C. Wine Bar at 773.883.5101 for more information and reservations.
