The month of May races out of the gate with two big chances to congregate and celebrate: the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 1 and Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday, May 5. Timothy O’Toole’s, the fun-loving Streeterville pub, is the perfect place to gather with friends for both occasions.

On Saturday, May 1, Timothy O’Toole’s is throwing a proper Kentucky Derby viewing party, complete with 47 screens broadcasting the racing action starting at 5 p.m. With a nod to time-tested Derby tradition, O’Toole’s will be serving up Sweet Tea Vodka cocktails for $5.50 and Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps for $6. The pub invites patrons to don a Derby hat in honor of the occasion and take part in a Derby pool for a chance to win prizes.

But the fun doesn’t end when the race wraps up. Be sure to stick around for the night’s big boxing event: Shane Mosley vs. Floyd Mayweather. O’Toole’s will air the match-up at 8 p.m. and offer $15 buckets of Corona bottles. Note: There is a $20 cover charge for this event. The pub’s regular Saturday special, $3 pints of Miller Lite, Miller High Life and Coors Light, will also be offered during the Kentucky Derby and boxing viewing parties.

Then, on Wednesday, May 5, Timothy O’Toole’s will welcome Cinco de Mayo party people for a fun and friendly fiesta. The festivities will feature a “best moustache” contest, awarding the wearer of the most impressive facial hair a $50 bar tab. There will also be a hot pepper-eating contest and a piñata stuffed with decidedly adult prizes. All revelers can enjoy $10 33-ounce margaritas, $15 buckets of Corona and Corona Light and a $20 tequila shot buffet. Guests are encouraged to wear a poncho or sombrero to receive a free order of chips and salsa. In addition, O’Toole’s regular Wednesday specials will also be in effect for Cinco de Mayo, offering $3 PBRs, $5 shots of Jameson and $5.99 orders of nachos.
