50 Beers Compete for Top Honors at Third Annual Event
Saturday, May 1
$25 tickets (plus $1.99 handling fee)
Beer lovers, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 1 for Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery’s third annual Rockfest. The River North Rock Bottom location will host the event, which will feature 50 different brews, all hailing from the Midwest region’s eight Rock Bottom Brewery locations (Chicago, Lombard, Warrenville and Orland Park in Illinois; two Indianapolis, Indiana venues; Des Moines, Iowa; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin).
Guests will get to sample the various beers, evaluating each for their diversity and quality, including entries from Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in River North. The event will also serve as a farewell party for Rock Bottom Chicago’s brewmaster Pete Crowley, who will pass the torch to the newly appointed Chicago brewmaster Chris Rafferty. Rafferty (who comes to Chicago from Rock Bottom’s Arlington, Virginia outpost) and Crowley will show off some of their award-winning brews for the assembled crowd of beer enthusiasts, who can vote for their favorite brewer to receive the coveted “Golden Bung Hammer” award.
Rock Bottom’s Rockfest will take place from 1-5 p.m. (early check-in starts at noon). Items from the restaurant’s food menu will be available for purchase throughout the event. Rockfest tickets are available exclusively through www.brownpapertickets.com for $25 per person (plus a $1.99 handling fee).
