Whether you’re welcoming spring by celebrating the Chicago Blackhawks stellar 2009-2010 season or just indulging your love of an ice cold brew, Timothy O’Toole’s has a busy April ahead with a series of beer promotions taking place and a Blackhawks Game Day planned to commemorate the team’s trip to the NHL playoffs.

Beer lovers will want to grab a bar stool at O’Toole’s for events throughout the month, which will feature drink specials and giveaways. Boston’s Harpoon Brewery will be in the spotlight from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, and the popular Harpoon IPA will be O’Toole’s featured beer of the month at $4.50 a pint. Honoring the opening week of baseball season in Chicago is a Miller promotion from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, officially ushering in the season of brews at the ballpark. Also, be sure to check out Timothy O’Toole’s special Cubs (Smirnoff Vodka infused with blueberries, $7) and White Sox (Smirnoff and Razzmatazz liqueur, $7) martinis, which will make their debut this month, as well.

Timothy O’Toole’s other April beer tastings include Peroni on Saturday, April 10 at 8 p.m.; New Belgium Ranger IPA on Thursday, April 15 from 6-8 p.m.; hometown favorite Goose Island on Saturday, April 17 from 8-10 p.m.; and Sam Adams on Friday, April 23 from 8-9 p.m.

But it’s not all about baseball this April. The number-two seeded Blackhawks are set to take on the number-seven L.A. Kings when the NHL playoffs kick off mid-month. Fans can head to Timothy O’Toole’s, the friendly, sports-centric Streeterville pub, for all of the NHL playoffs action, which will be broadcast on 47 TVs (including 13 42-inch plasmas).

O’Toole’s will ignite playoffs fever with a Blackhawks Game Day on Wednesday, April 14, featuring drink specials to satisfy any super fan. Raise a toast to the home team with $5 Captain Morgan cocktails, $4 Rumple Minze shots and $3 Bud and Bud Light bottles. These specials join O’Toole’s regular Wednesday offerings, including $5 Jameson shots, $3 PBRs and nachos for $5.99.
