$5 craft beers on draft during Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America (April 5-10)
Wicker Park’s Smoke Daddy is almost as well known (and loved) for its exemplary beer list as it is for its award-winning barbecue. And, on Tuesday evenings (as well as other special occasions), the laid-back restaurant really gets to show off its brews clues.
Each week from 7-9 p.m., Smoke Daddy hosts a beer tasting, highlighting new, rare and small-production brews created by esteemed brewers from across the country (as well as right in our own backyard). These tastings are free to attend and offer specials on pints of the featured beers ($6) and beer flights ($10). And, each Tuesday, Smoke Daddy also serves up $6 pulled meat nachos, a perfect foil for all that brew.
The month kicks off auspiciously with Smoke Daddy’s beer discounts taking place during the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America, which will be held at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers from April 7-10. Smoke Daddy will offer $5 craft beers on draft in honor of the event from Monday, April 5 through Saturday, April 10.
On Tuesday, April 6, a very special beer tasting will introduce Resistance India Pale Ale, a custom-crafted brew made especially for Smoke Daddy by Two Brothers Brewing Company in west suburban Warrenville. The tasting notes describe Resistance IPA as having “complex aromas of oak, honeyed malt sweetness and piney citrus hops that lead to a full hoppy middle and a finish that’s crisp, oaky and pleasantly lingering.”
On Tuesday, April 13, Smoke Daddy will team up with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, a prolific brewing company located in Milton, Delaware.
Smoke Daddy is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.
