ZOCALO Celebrates National Empanada Day

Take an Empanada Tour of Latin America
 
Thursday, April 8 through Sunday, April 11

ZOCALO Restaurant and Tequila Bar offers a “culinary vacation” for dining guests looking to take a tour of Latin America through empanadas. In honor of National Empanada Day (Thursday, April 8), ZOCALO will offer a trio of empanadas inspired by Mexican, Colombian and Argentinean flavors and recipes, in addition to an ala carte empanada menu. These offerings are available for four days, April 8-11, at both lunch and dinner service.  Menu below.

Empanada Tour of Latin America $9

Enjoy a trio of empanadas, each with a distinct style and preparation:
 
Mexico
Pan fried turnover filled with tuna, cilantro, tomato, garlic red onion and jalapeño; served with a spicy chile puya salsa
 
Colombia
Flaky turnover filled with spinach and Ricotta cheese and served with Aji sauce
 
Argentina
Baked turnover filled with seasoned ground beef, egg, green onion, crushed red pepper flakes and green olives; served with chimichurri

Ala Carte Empanadas

Empanadas de Atun (Guerrero, Mexico)  $7
Two pan fried turnovers filled with tuna, cilantro, tomato, garlic red onion and jalapeño; served with a spicy chile puya salsa
 
Empanadas de Espinacas (Cali, Colombia)  $6
Two flaky turnovers filled with spinach and ricotta cheese; served with Aji sauce
 
Empanadas Mendocinas (Mendoza, Argentina) $6
Two baked turnovers filled with seasoned ground beef, egg, green onion, crushed red pepper flakes and green olives; served with chimichurri
 
Hours of Operation:
Lunch: Monday-Friday 11:30am-2:30pm
Dinner: Sunday-Tuesday: 5pm-10pm
Wednesday-Saturdays: 5pm-11pm
Lounge Open until 2am on Fridays
