Venice Wine Dinner: 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25 ($50)
Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar, a contemporary Italian restaurant in the Lakeview neighborhood, will continue its highly regarded wine series, which each month features a tasting and a dinner showcasing various varietals from different regions.
On Tuesday, March 23, Frasca owner Doug Dunlay will oversee an Italy vs. France wine tasting showdown. Eight wines from these legendary wine-growing nations will go toe-to-toe for your discerning palate. The wines include Chateau Graville-Lacoste Graves Blanc, Trimbach Pinot Gris, Philippe Colin Burgundy, E. Guigal Crozes-Hermitage, Tamellini Soave Classico, Bucci Verdicchio Classico, Rivetti “Ca di Pian” Barbera di Asti and Villa Antinori Super Tuscan. Frasca’s monthly wine tastings, which take place from 7-9 p.m., cost $30 per person and include the wines along with an array of light appetizers.
Then, on Thursday, March 25, Frasca’s focus will turn to the northern Italian city of Venice for a themed wine dinner. The event will feature Dunlay leading guests through a four-course feast, which will highlight the fine wines and cuisine of the famed Venetian region of Italy. The full menu is detailed below. Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar’s Venice wine dinner starts at 7 p.m. and is priced at $50 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity).
