Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner, and with the new season brings exciting new flavors. Sabor Saveur, the dramatic Mexican-French fusion restaurant in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, is welcoming spring with a fresh take on its nightly prix fixe offering. The five-course menu ($40 per person, excluding tax and gratuity) is offered at this unique BYOB restaurant every night from 5-7 p.m.
The prix fixe menu items rotate monthly, featuring the nouveau Mexican cuisine of owner and executive chef Yanitzin Sanchez. The dinners consist of a soup, salad, appetizer, choice of entree and dessert. Sabor Saveur’s March prix fixe menu is detailed below.

Soup: Soup of the day (Tuesday: Pumpkin Flower Velute, Wednesday: Cream of Chicharrón, Thursday: Lettuce Cream Soup, Friday: Clarified Consommé, Saturday: Fish Meatballs)
Salad: Avocado, walnut and ground meat sopresa served on a bed of spinach dressed in tamarind vinaigrette and accompanied by a pasilla pepper sauce
Appetizer: Shrimp ceviche served with achiote vinaigrette
Entree (a choice of): Poached salmon filet with orange beurre blanc, served with green pepper polenta and epazote
Pork loin stuffed with tejocote and almond crust, served with chipotle mashed potatoes
Baked chile poblano relleno stuffed with walnut and ricotta, served with tomatillo sauce and aromatized with oregano
Dessert: Pineapple rice pudding served with caramelized sauce and accompanied by a walnut-cinnamon “tulip”
Dinner is served Tuesday-Thursday 5-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5-11 p.m. and Sunday 5-9 p.m. Reservations are recommended, not required.
