Red Kiva, the West Loop’s most ahead-of-the-curve lounge, introduces “The Revolving Door,” a monthly reading series featuring poetry, cultural musings and music spun by DJ Bornswift. “The Revolving Door” series will take place from 7-10 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, kicking off on Wednesday, February 17.
The genre-busting series will premiere with appearances by poets Luis Humberto, Sid Yiddish, Allison Gruber and Debra Pecore. Each event starts with an open mic, followed by the featured writers and performers. This special installment of “The Revolving Door” on February 17 will also showcase a silent auction to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
“The Revolving Door” reading series will continue its residency at Red Kiva on the third Wednesday of each month. Red Kiva is open Wednesday through Friday from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. and Saturday from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m. Red Kiva’s gourmet flatbread pizzas will be available for purchase during the event.
The Revolving Door is the West Loop’s fashionable reading series of poetry and culture. On the third Wednesday of each month, the group features poets, musicians, fictionists, artists and those in between. The series provides evenings of insight, laughter and dazzle as only words, music and art can do. For more information, visit www.revolvingdr.com and on Twitter at twitter.com/revolvingdoorrs.
