We’re all craving spring come February, so on Tuesday, February 2 (a.k.a. Groundhog Day) all eyes will be on that furry prognosticator, Punxsutawney Phil. Whether the mercurial rodent sees his shadow (six more weeks of winter) or doesn’t (a prediction for an early spring), Smoke Daddy, the laid-back barbecue hangout in Wicker Park, will help you ease the pain or celebrate our good fortune.
If six more weeks of winter are our fate, Smoke Daddy will serve hot spiked cider drinks for $2. If we can look forward to spring’s early arrival, then it’s $2 John Daly cocktails (a summery blend of Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade) for everyone. Luckily, Smoke Daddy’s “Shadow or No Shadow” event will also feature the restaurant’s usual Tuesday special of $6 pulled meat nachos.
Smoke Daddy will also host its weekly beer tasting event that evening from 7-9 p.m. featuring brews from Two Brothers Brewing Company in west suburban Warrenville. Live music will begin at 9 p.m.
