D.O.C. Wine Bar Travels the World of Wine with Monthly Tastings

Sample Varietals from California, France, Italy and Beyond 

Monday, January 18: California Zinfandels
7-9 p.m.
$35 per person (includes tasting of eight wines)

It has been said that the best way to get to know wine is by drinking it, and D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lincoln Park is the perfect place to get acquainted.  Led by Sommelier Greg Sorrell, D.O.C. Wine Bar’s monthly wine tastings traverse many of the world’s top wine-growing regions, giving seasoned oenophiles and budding connoisseurs alike a chance to survey varietals from across the globe. 

On Monday, January 18 from 7-9 p.m., D.O.C. Wine Bar will host its first wine tasting of 2010, highlighting California Zinfandels. Guests will explore the breadth of one of California’s most popular and oldest grown varietals by tasting both well-known and rare Zinfandels, such as Turley, Brown Vineyards, Klinkerbrick “Old Ghost,” Orin Swift “Saldo” and Robert Biale “Black Chicken.”
