Remodeled Rock Bottom Readies for a New Decade in Drinks and Dining
After launching the new RB Grille this Fall, the adjacent Rock Bottom Brewery (established 1996) has also seen major renovations to their side of the building at Grand and State Street. Upon entering on Grand Avenue in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, guests will notice new ironwork, lofted seating with tables, the addition of numerous flatscreen televisions and hightop tables near the large bar just inches from the brewery vessels visible behind glass.
While working your way towards the backroom, popular for sports viewing, a completely new look has been unveiled. Pool tables and minimal tube televisions have been replaced by 22 flatscreens and a live music stage. A triangular set-up dropped from the ceiling which centers the room, and an exposed brick “projection wall” shows any game in a large format. Fourteen hightop tables with moss green and black leather seats accent the rich woods throughout the space while new ironwork designs mirror that of the front room. Glass walls peek into Brewmaster Peter Crowley’s vast vats of hand-crafted, award-winning beer. The room is lit by track lighting and warm sconces, which now highlight raised, leather banquette booths and a new stage, perfect for spinning DJs or rockin’ live bands.
With such exciting upcoming events as “Rock Fest” in April (local breweries sampling event with over 30 Midwest beers), Brewer’s Dinners, Super Bowl Sunday, a Mardi Gras celebration and an Oscars viewing party, Rock Bottom Brewery will continue to be a casual and fun restaurant and brewery with a beer list to boast about. Chef Christopher McCoy’s complete menu is available as a PDF file upon request.
Next on the remodel list? The City’s first Roof Top Bar will see a new design this coming spring/summer season.
