Five Courses Highlight French-Mexican Fusion Cuisine, $40

Sabor Saveur, the dramatic new Mexican-French fusion restaurant in Wicker Park, will introduce a prix-fixe dinner option on Sunday, January 3, 2010. The five-course menu ($40 per person, excluding tax and gratuity) will be offered at this recently opened BYOB restaurant every night from 5-7 p.m.
The prix-fixe menu offerings will rotate monthly, featuring the Mexican-French fusion cuisine of chef Yanitzin Sanchez. The dinners will consist of a soup, salad, appetizer, choice of entree and dessert. Sabor Saveur’s January prix-fixe menu is detailed below.

Soup: Cream of chicharron served with mashed eggplant
Salad: Arugula beet salad served with red pepper reduction and cilantro, topped with goat cheese
Appetizer: Pumpkin flower-and-cream cheese taquitos served with tomato sauce aromatized with pomegranate
Entree (a choice of): Seabass filet al Pastor style served with roasted corn relish, roasted xoconoztle and guajillo pepper sauce
Filet mignon topped with pumpkin seeds and huazontle, served with yellow mole, sweet potato-and-coconut croquettes over amaranth green beans
Baked chile poblano relleno stuffed with walnut and ricotta, served with tomatillo sauce and aromatized with oregano
