Mexican Independence Day and ZOCALO’s Three Year Anniversary Celebrated

Monday, September 14 – Thursday, September 17

ZOCALO Restaurant and Tequila Bar will celebrate two occasions with one delicious dining deal. Mexican Independence Day, taking place September 16, and ZOCALO’s three year anniversary will be acknowledged for four days, September 14-17. Guests may delight in a three course dinner menu for $30 per couple, menu below.

Guacamole con Granada

Freshly diced avocado mixed with tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, serrano chiles, cotija cheese and pomegranate seeds; served with assorted chips

Huaraches Tri-Color

Two traditional masa boats topped with shredded chicken and garnished with sour cream and fresco cheese; served over a green tomatillo salsa and a red guajillo salsa

Crema de Flor de Calabaza

Cream of squash blossom soup garnished with a cotija cheese crisp

Platos Fuertes / Main Course

Chile en Nogada

Roasted poblano pepper stuffed with ground pork and beef as well as pears, apple, peaches, pineapple, raisins and allspice; topped with a brandy-walnut sauce and garnished with fresh pomegranate seeds

Carne en su Jugo

Grilled flank steak in a pasilla broth with whole black beans, applewood smoked bacon and homemade chorizo; garnished with cilantro and onion, diced radishes and arbol peppers

Pollo con Corundas

Marinated grilled chicken served with four traditional Michoacán tamales and topped with a “ranchera” style salsa; accompanied with refried black beans and poblano strips with

sour cream

Enchiladas Bandera

Sauteed spinach and cheese folded into three flour tortillas and topped with three salsas representing Mexico’s flag; served with white rice and refried black beans

Postres / Desserts

Churros con Champurado

Traditional fried-dough pastry snack drizzled with agave-mango nectar and served with a chocolate- based, thick Mexican drink infused with cinnamon and vanilla bean

Flan de Pina

Mexican custard infused with vanilla bean and pineapple; served over a creamy

coconut sauce

Reservations not required, but welcomed. Tax and gratuity not included in the $30 price. Hours: 5pm-10pm Monday and Tuesday; 5pm-11pm Wednesday and Thursday.
