Valentine’s Day at Due Lire

Italian Fare Set in an Intimate Atmosphere

Due Lire Vino & Cucina has the perfect atmosphere, ambiance and cuisine that diners’ seek out on Valentine’s Day. This cozy, Lincoln Square contemporary Italian restaurant will offer a special four course, prix fixe menu on Tuesday, February 14. From 5-10 p.m., guests may enjoy Chef Kevin Abshire’s multi-course meal for $45. The Valentine’s Day menu includes an appetizer, pasta, entree and dessert, with such selections as sunchoke and toasted hazelnut puree soup; creamy gorgonzola polenta with wild boar ragu and shaved horseradish; homemade celery root-filled pasta with caramelized wild mushroom and truffle butter; roasted pork loin with roasted potatoes and brussels sprout in a red wine demi; and homemade pear tart with hazelnut gelato and shaved dark chocolate.

Due Lire’s regular dinner menu will also be available in addition to the prix fixe. Proprietor Massimo Di Vuolo is happy to pair each course with wine, upon request. Reservations are recommended, please call the restaurant at 773-275-7878.

Valentine’s Day at The Red Canary

Aphrodisiac Menu for Two

February 10, 11, 13, 14

The Red Canary, located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, is a perfectly sexy spot for Valentine’s Day dining. The decadent parlor room features a vaulted ceiling, stunning chandeliers, exposed brick and damask fabrics. Named after legendary female jazz vocalists from the Harlem Jazz Movement, the restaurant and lounge offers “Real. American. Comfort.” fare, along with an impressive selection of classic cocktails, wine and craft beer.

Chef Daniel Tolentino has crafted a special menu for two that incorporates appropriately themed, aphrodisiac-inspired dishes. The menu, offered during dinner service February 10, 11, 13 and 14, is priced at $90 per couple and includes a champagne toast, starter course, shared bite, soup or salad, entree and dessert. The selections are outlined below.

Reservations are encouraged (tip: request one of the red velvet booths). Tax and gratuity is not included in the dinner. The Valentine’s weekend menu for two will be offered Friday 2/10 and Saturday 2/11 from  5-11 p.m. and Monday 2/13 and Tuesday 2/14 from 5-10 p.m.

Valentine’s Day Weekend at Park Grill

Sweetheart Specials, Cocktail Duo and Half-Price Wines

Friday, February 10 – Tuesday, February 14

Capture the heart of your sweetie in the heart of the city this Valentine’s Day. Park Grill in picturesque Millennium Park will celebrate the weekend of love with sweetheart specials, themed cocktails (Sweetheart Martini, Bourbon Bubbly) and half-price select bottles of wine from Friday, February 10 to Tuesday, February 14.

As an added bonus, each day a pair of theater tickets will be raffled off to various performances at The Harris Theater and Chicago Opera Theater. On February 14, one lucky couple will take home a romantic Chicago “getaway package” that includes a one night stay at Hotel Burnham and dinner for two at Park Grill. Also on February 14, all ladies dining at the restaurant will receive complimentary chocolate covered strawberries.

Valentine’s Day Dining at Cantina Laredo

Three Course Menu with Optional Tequila Cocktail Pairings

Friday, February 10 – Tuesday, February 14

$35 per person
$50 with tequila cocktail pairings

Cantina Laredo will offer a special three course meal with optional tequila cocktail pairings this Valentine’s Day weekend. Chef Larry Sinclair’s dinner menu features an array of modern Mexican dishes, such as creamy roasted red pepper soup, mango-jicama salad, crab and poblano enchiladas, pork tenderloin with casacabel pineapple sauce, filet mignon, strawberry bunuelos and chocolate cake. The prix fixe menu, priced at $35 per person (outlined below) will be available February 10-14.

Each dining guest participating in the prix fixe will have the option of adding tequila cocktails that perfectly pair with each course. For an additional $15, three drinks will be presented: Pomegranate Margarita with the starter course; Sunset Margarita with the entree course; and the Heart Warmer with the dessert course. The cocktail descriptions are also listed below.

The Chicago Firehouse will welcome diners celebrating Valentine’s Day with a multi-day dining event. From February 10-14, a three course menu for two by Chef Kendal Duque will be offered during dinner service. Duque’s dishes include choice of appetizer (soup, salad, risotto), classic chateaubriand for two, and choice of dessert (chocolate or tres leches cake) for $100 per couple. Wine pairings may be added to the date night dinner for $35 per couple.

Valentine’s Day Dining at ZED451

Dinner Includes a Champagne Toast and Amuse from Chef Lavalle

This Valentine’s Day, ZED451 offers not only an incredibly impressive dining experience, but a unique one as well. Guests who dine on Saturday, February 11 and Tuesday, February 14 will enjoy a pre-dinner event in the gorgeous glass wine room. Couples will receive a flute of champagne, and a special meet and greet with Chef Joe Lallave. Chef will present an asparagus bisque made with truffle corn mustard and Maine lobster. Dinner guests will then explore ZED451’s bountiful harvest tables, followed by the continuous presentation of entrees, served table side. Valentine’s Dinner is $48 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

Pastry Chef Kate Milashus’ special Valentine’s Day dessert, Chocolate Caramel Trio, will also be offered on February 11 and 14. The decadent dessert is a mini mousse cake with caramel sauce and caramel peanut ice cream, served with bon bon and milk choclate caramels ($9).
