New Year’s Eve at Nacional 27

Ano Nuevo 2012: Eat, Drink and Dance the Night Away

Ring in 2012 at Nacional 27! On Saturday, December 31, from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., the River North hot spot has planned a festive evening of Latin eats and beats. The restaurant and lounge is offering multi-course menus with optional cocktail pairings, in addition to a late-night premium bar package.

The entire evening will be set to sultry sounds, with live Latin music performed in the bar/lounge from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., live DJs setting beats to get your hips shaking staring at 10 p.m., and DJ Konsept spinning in the Año Nuevo with the sultry sounds of Latin America!

The three New Year’s Eve “Eat. Drink. Dance.” options are outlined below. Reservations are required, please call Nacional 27 at 312-664-2727.

Nacional 27: New Year’s Eve 2012

EAT

Dinner reservations between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy a three-course Latin Menu for $55 per person ($80 per person includes cocktail pairings). Table reservations are for two hours.  The New Year’s Eve dinner menu, listed below, features dishes from Central and South America.

Dinner reservations between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Enjoy a four-course Latin Menu for $95 per person ($120 per person includes cocktail pairings). Table reservations are for two hours. The New Year’s Eve dinner menu, listed below, features dishes from Central and South America. Guests dining within this time frame will enjoy the live music, as well as a champagne toast and complimentary cover charge for the club. Those with reservations for 9 p.m. and later will be guaranteed to keep their table for the remainder of the evening. 

The a la carte, tapas and ceviche menu will be offered in the bar and lounge from 5 p.m. to Midnight.

The bar/lounge package ($100) includes three hours of passed tapas, along with Bacardi mojitos, Herradura margaritas, house wines, house beers, red and white sangria, premium liquor drinks and a champagne toast.

Live DJ heating up the dance floor staring at 10 p.m.
DJ Konsept rocks out the Ano Nuevo from Midnight to 3 a.m. with the hottest Latin Beats

NOTE: Anyone without a dinner reservation, or anyone joining the party prior to midnight, will incur a $40 cover charge (includes passed tapas and champagne toast). Table seating after 11 p.m. requires bottle service.  All dinner and bar packages are non-inclusive of tax and gratuity.  An 18-percent gratuity will be added to all checks.

chorizo empanadas; pork arepas; tostones with a corn and avocado relish; adobado shrimp skewer

Course Two - served individually, choice of:
Argentinean mixed grill for two, skirt steak, sausage, latin vegetables, salsa brava & chimichurri; house-made spinach fettuccine with pepper crusted salmon, tomato-caper butter sauce; Gunthorp farm pan roasted chicken adobado, roasted corn flan; roast suckling pig “cubano” mashed boniato, spicy eggplant-tomato ratatouille, coconut rice and beans; grouper “huachinango” tomatillo salsa, spicy green rice; chimichurri-crusted beef tenderloin medallions, Spanish cheese-potato gratin & red wine jus ($10 supplement)

Don Julio Tequila Events at Zocalo

This December, Zocalo Restaurant and Tequila Bar is holding back-to-back Don Julio tequila events.

On Monday, December 12, Zocalo will host a three-course, Don Julio-themed tequila dinner (menu listed below) featuring authentic Mexican cuisine and tequila pairings. The evening begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dinner at 7:00 p.m. The event, led by a representative from Don Julio, includes an open bar of Zocalo margaritas, beer and wine. The fee to attend is $45 per guest, plus tax and gratuity. Limited seating is available. Please call Zocalo to reserve a place in the Don Julio dinner.

The following day, Tuesday, December 13, Zocalo will host its monthly tequila tasting from 6:30-8 p.m.  Led by Zocalo’s resident tequila ambassador, Victor Baheza, the Don Julio tasting will feature two specialty cocktails, passed appetizers, and a sampling of blanco, reposado and anejo tequila – all set to live Latin music. A raffle will be held for participants to win Zocalo gift cards and bottles of Don Julio tequila, complete with tequila locker service. The all-inclusive fee is $25 per person. Creamy zucchini blossom soup served with oaxacan cheese-herb crostini
Paired with Don Julio Blanco

Second Course: Grilled Porkchop
A tender, grilled porkchop finished in a chipotle-citrus salsa and accompanied by a white sweet potato puree as well as a seasonal watercress-beat salad sprinkled with candied pecans
Paired with Don Julio Reposado

Third Course: Chayote Cheesecake
A velvety chayote cheesecake drizzled with a guava sauce and topped with berry compote

Cuban Rum Revolution Dinner at Nacional 27

Interactive Cocktail Class and Three Course Dinner

Nacional 27 will dedicate a dinner party to the Cuban “rum revolution” on Tuesday, November 22. Participating guests will start the evening at 7 p.m. with a 30-minute rum cocktail mixology session and passed tapas, followed by a three course, Cuban-inspired dinner at 7:30 p.m.

The interactive cocktail class will explore such Cuban cocktails as the Mojito, Daiquiri and El Presidente, which will then be paired with the Cuban cuisine of the evening (Mojito Ceviche, Suckling Pig Cubano, Ropa Vieja and Borracha Vanilla Cake). This exciting event will also feature live Latin music and Cuban beats by Zachary Himelhoch, who will certainly keep the spirits running high all night.

Cuban Rum Revolution Dinner Party

Interactive rum mixology bar featuring Bacardi Rum. Cocktails will include Cuban classics such as: The Mojito, Daiquiri and El Presidente. Passed tapas will include traditional Cuban tostones, corn fritters and shrimp adobado skewers.
