Every Thursday night, Blokes & Birds contemporary English gastropub in Lakeview will offer a satisfying supper with a sudsy pairing. The $10 “Burger & Beer Bundle” features the Blokes’ Burger (four-year cheddar or horseradish havarti with drambuie onions, malt vinegar aioli and lettuce), hand-cut fries and choice of local craft brew (choices include draft selections by Two Brothers, Metropolitan, Three Floyds and Finch’s).

The dinner and a drink deal is available from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tax and gratuity not included.

Superstitious? Many find Friday the 13th to be a day that will bring bad luck. Fizz Bar and Grill, located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, will hold a fun theme-night in honor of the notoriously unlucky day.

On Friday, August 13, beginning at 4:00pm, Fizz will show horrific flicks on their eight flatscreen televisions (including the beer garden). Fizz’s bar team will serve up a variety of scary sippers, such as $6 Death’s Door vodka cocktails and personal cocktail pitchers for $13, listed below. Comfort food may be in order when fear sets in and Chef Weslie Bellini’s bad luck burger will certainly do the trick (description below).
