19 days ’til kickoff! On Sunday, February 5, Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club invites you to celebrate the spirit of the Super Bowl. The entire day, from brunch to dinner and drinks, will feature a “Madonna-rama” party in light of her highly anticipated, half-time performance.

Diva Madam X will star as Madge in Kit Kat’s very own “half-time performance” during brunch service (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), where free-flowing mimosas, sangria and bloody marys will be featured for only $10 with the purchase of a brunch entree. The martini menu will be offered at half-price ($6, regularly $12).

Once Super Bowl 46 begins, Diva Kinley Preston will “vogue” her way around the venue and continue the “Madonna-rama” celebration well into the night. Footballs fans will watch the gridiron action on seven state-of-the-art screens, while sipping half-price martinis ($6 each, regularly $12).

The specialty cocktail for Super Bowl Sunday is The M.D.N.A Martini (Effen Cucumber, Hpnotiq, Harmonie, St. Germain with a splash of sprite). Madonna DVDs, CDs and posters from Border Line Music will be given away during both brunch and nighttime events.

New Year’s Day Brunches Around Town

Contemporary Classics, Comfort Fare and Ethnic Eats in Chicago

What better way to start new year’s day than with a beautiful brunch. The list below outlines a bevy of downtown options, from classic breakfast and lunch fare to ethnic eats and treats. The details for each service are included by restaurant.

BLT American Brasserie will offer their new Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featuring Chef Laurent Tourondel’s exquisite, wide-ranging menu, guests may enjoy salads and starters, egg dishes and breakfast entrees, lunch items from the grill, sushi rolls, pizzettas and more. Each patron will receive a warm, from-the-oven popover to start the meal. Incredible bloody Marys (barbeque, balsamic and the BLT) and brunch cocktails will also be available.

Say ole! to new year’s day at Cantina Laredo. Cantina Laredo will offer their complete brunch menu featuring favorite Mexican dishes, housemade margaritasand bloody Marias from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (entrees include a mimosa, Bloody Maria or non-alcoholic beverage of your choice). Some of the dishes will include crab cake benedict, chicken fajita omelet, migas con huevos, steak and eggs with chimichurri and huevos rancheros.

The New Year’s Day Hangover Buffet at Park Grill will cure all that ails you from the night before.  Special hangover-happy foods (ham and cheese French toast, banana and nutella pancakes, mushroom and spinach benedict, flat iron steak with chimichurri, biscuits and spicy gravy), brunch cocktails and a Bloody Mary Bar will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $30 (adults) and $12 kids (ages 12 and under).

The Chicago Firehouse will feature Chef Kendal Duque’s new, winter a la carte brunch menu from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Duque’s dishes include a variety of eggs benedict, omelettes, scrambles and sweets, in addition to entree salads, soup, sandwiches and butcher offerings. Brunch cocktails may be perfect for the post-party day, from the BLT Bloody Mary and Hard Arnold Palmer to the 5-Alarm Coffee Cocktail and Spiked Sweet Tea.

Elate’s market-driven brunch from Chef Michael Noll will be available starting at 10:30 a.m. and will run until 2:30 p.m. Guests may enjoy bottomless mimosas (blueberry, mango, traditional) for $20 with the purchase of an entree. Noll’s menu ranges from sweets and savories to salads and sandwiches.

Start the new year with a show! The brunch at Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free-flowing bloody Marys, sangria and mimosas will be $10 with any brunch entrée purchase from Chef Mark Kasper’s menu of contemporary classics and comfort fare. Lively performances from Kit Kat’s one-and-only Madam X will take place throughout the day. Kit Kat is featuring half-price martinis from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

The Hangover Brunch at The Red Canary will highlight a fan-favorite: “The Hangover” entree. The dish consists of skillet potatoes with melted cheddar, braised short ribs and a sunny-side egg on top for $14. Guests that partake in the bottomless mimosas ($18) or bottomless bloody Marys ($20) will receive a complimentary entrée from the weekend brunch menu. Brunch service is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The perfect place for a post-party hangover brunch is in Timothy O’Toole’s Pub’s subterranean setting. In addition to the brunch menu (scrambles, benedicts, burritos, burgers, sandwiches, waffles and more), the Pub will also offer a bottomless mimosa bar ($16) and bottomless bloody mary bar ($20) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For the football fans, sip $16 Miller/Coors family buckets, $5 Jack Daniels and Jack Honey cocktails while tuning in to over 75 screens (open until 3 a.m.).

ZED451 will start off the new year with an unforgettable brunch experience. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., dining guests may partake in a mid-day meal that includes a bounty of breakfast and lunch selections. Brunch is $29 per person, mimosas will be offered for $3 and house-made bloody marys, complete with gourmet garnish, will be $5 each. (Returning guests that purchased the New Year’s Eve dinner or party package will receive bottomless bloody marys at brunch.) In the Fireside Lounge, New Year’s Day is all about football. ZED451′s 80-foot screen will show every play of the games, and from 10 a.m. to midnight, $5 ZED burgers and $3 pints of craft beer will be offered in addition to the full “Cravings” menu.

NFL Football in the Fireside Lounge

Gear up, Bear down and enjoy every play of the game in the Fireside Lounge at ZED451. On both Sundays and Mondays, the cozy, ski lodge-like setting is  the perfect “sports cave” for viewing football games. With an 80-foot big screen, gourmet bites, stellar beer list and sporty specials, ZED451 has football fans covered.

Beer selections include $3 pints of Goose Island Green Line, Goose Island Matilda, Fat Tire, Victoria, Metropolitan Krankshaft, Bells Best Brown, Bells Christmas, Darke Horse Amber Ale, Finch’s Threadless, Dogfish 90 and Stella Artois.

Pair the pints with $5 ZED Burgers (grilled 8-ounce Angus burger on homemade pretzel bun with butter pickles and pickled shallots, or with maple Cajun bacon and choice of cheese).

“Sunday ’til Sundown” at Elate

A Sophisticated Way to Watch the Bears Play

Stop in for brunch and stay for the game, as Elate restaurant in River North launches their “Sunday ’til Sundown” brunch party. On Sunday, November 20, Elate will offer Bears fans a sophisticated setting in which to watch the Monsters of the Midway play the San Diego Chargers (kick-off is at 3:15 p.m.).

Chef Michael Noll’s brunch menu will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring savory items, from Breakfast Pizzas to Braised Pork and Egg Tostadas, as well as sweet dishes, such as Crème Brulee Pancakes and Crispy French Toast. Bloody Marys (made with housemade mix and garnished with smoked onions, smoked pickles, blue cheese stuffed olives), Blueberry and Orange Mimosas (made with fresh squeezed juices) and Mango Mojitos will be available for $7 each. Bottomless mimosas will be offered for $20 with purchase of an entree. The complete weekend brunch menu is outlined below.

Starting at 2 p.m., DJ Lash will spin cutting-edge sounds as guests gear up to watch the Bears home game against the Chargers. Elate’s swanky “Skybox” room features a big screen HD TV with state-of-the-art speakers and seating for 20, while the spacious lounge area offers two HD TVs and a large projection screen. Watch all the action while enjoying high-end bar food (select menu after 4 p.m. will offer the Elate Burger, Mussels, Flatbreads and more), along with craft cocktails and premium, organic bottle service. Following the game, DJ Lash will spin until 8 p.m.

Patrick Mannelly Day at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub

“Patrick Mannelly Day” will be in full effect at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub, as the Chicago Bear breaks Steve McMichael’s record for most consecutive games played (191) during Monday’s home game versus the Green Bay Packers. This will be his 192nd game played for the Chicago franchise. Mannelly also recently broke Walter Payton’s 190 game marker.

The Streeterville sports pub, named “Best Chicago Bears Bar” by the Chicago Reader and Metromix, will celebrate the NFL player throughout the day and night with jersey giveaways (various players, some autographed), pints of orange and blue beer ($3), Chicago-style hot dogs ($1.92) and more. Monday night’s football viewing party will kick off the season-long Superbowl ticket giveaway promotion. This year, Patrick Mannelly’s very own pair of Superbowl seats will be awarded to one lucky winner (names collected weekly will be eligible to win at a later date).

Following the Packers game, shown with sound on 60 flat screen televisions, Patrick Mannelly will head to Timothy O’Toole’s Pub for his celebratory party. Mannelly plans to meet and greet fans and sign memorabilia and he may be joined by fellow teammates.

Ticketholders may board the Soldier Field Shuttle Bus, departing from Ontario and Fairbanks at 6:15pm ($10 fee includes beer on the bus). Riders will be driven back to the pub for the post-game, Mannelly party. Monday Night Football’s ongoing specials will be available: $4 Cuervo (Silver or Gold) Margaritas and shots; $6.50 jumbo draughts of Sam Adams Octoberfest; $4.99 taco platters.
