Joseph Drouhin Wine Dinner at Shiraz on the Water

Wine Dinner at Shiraz on the Water, October 5, 2010

Hosted by Special Guest Laurent Drouhin

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Five Delicious Courses Paired with Five World Class Wines

Hors d’oeuvres Reception 6:30pm
Dinner 7:00pm

$75 per guest

Shiraz on the Water is pleased to announce an exclusive event that welcomes both eager enophiles and wine novices. A five-course dinner will feature the esteemed wines of Maison Joseph Drouhin, paired with the culinary creations of Executive Chef Carol Buckantz (menu and pairings listed below). The event will be led by Laurent Drouhin, a member of one of the oldest and most prestigious winery families in Burgundy, France.

Born in Beaune, the center of France’s Burgundy region, Laurent is the great-grandson of Joseph Drouhin, founder of Maison Joseph Drouhin Winery in 1880. Laurent’s outgoing and charming personality will take center stage as wine dinner guests get the rare opportunity to learn about Joseph Drouhin wines from a family ambassador. To many, the wines of Burgundy are dauntingly complicated and complex, but to Laurent it is far simpler: “The more you know about wine, the closer you get to Burgundy, and the more you know about Burgundy, the closer you get to Maison Joseph Drouhin.” Within this one night engagement, Laurent feels he can convince the most nervous of neophytes that they “get” Burgundy.

A variety of wines by the bottle will be available for purchase and Laurent Drouhin is pleased to sign bottles for participating guests. Reservations may be made by calling Shiraz on the Water, 630.671.5013. The fee of $75 per guest is not inclusive of tax and gratuity.
