Chicago “Gastro-lounge” Offers $2 Deals Each Day

Monday through Wednesday: 5 p.m.-12 a.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m.-3 a.m.

The Red Canary will fete two great years in Chicago with a different $2 offering each day. The celebratory week will culminate with a two-hour hosted bar and appetizer reception on Saturday, August 27 ($20 per person).

“French Reds” at D.O.C. Wine Bar

It has been said that the best way to get to know wine is by drinking it, and D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lincoln Park is the perfect place to get acquainted. Led by sommelier Greg Sorrell, D.O.C. Wine Bar’s next wine tasting will give seasoned oenophiles and budding connoisseurs alike the chance to survey red varietals from France.

On Monday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m., D.O.C. Wine Bar will tour and taste Stephanie Brocard Marsannay (Burgundy), Raspail Gigondas (Rhone), Chateau Damase (Bordeaux), Chateau St. Georges (Bordeaux), Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon (Loire Valley), among other French reds.

Frasca Pizzeria and Wine Bar (Lakeview), Dunlays on the Square (Logan Square) and Dunlays on Clark (Lincoln Park) will add daily brunch service this holiday season. From Sunday, December 26 to Sunday, January 2, the three restaurants will offer brunch everyday from 10am-3pm. A week-long celebration of “National Bloody Mary Day” (Jan 1) will offer guests the opportunity to be among the first to take home a bottle of the newly released, custom-made Smoke Daddy “Smokin’ Mary” bloody mary mix.

During the extended holiday brunches (Dec 26-Jan 2), anyone that orders a bloody mary will be offered a 32 ounce bottle of “foot stompin’ good” Smoke Daddy “Smokin’ Mary” mix for only $2 (regularly retails for $5). The brunch offerings for each restaurant are outlined below.

SMOKIN’ MARY MIX

Crush Week Celebration at D.O.C. Wine Bar


Wine Tasting at D.O.C. Wine Bar

Free Week-Long Wine Tasting Event

September in Napa Valley is synonymous with fall’s grape harvest. The leaves on the vines are beginning to change and the excitement builds for Crush, a time when many wineries have barrel tastings and winery tours. Skip the trip to Napa and head to D.O.C. Wine Bar and Bistro in suburban Lombard for a week’s worth of oenophile education and complimentary wine tastings.

A variety of wine vendors will be in the Tasting Room beginning Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 1, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. There will be six pours per evening.

D.O.C. Wine Bar will not accept reservations for Crush Week. The tasting event is on a first-come, first- served basis.
