Halloween Celebration for Charity at Cactus Bar and Grill

Donations Collected Benefit Greater Chicago Food Depository

Friday, October 28
11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Free to attend – donations of canned goods encouraged

The spirit of Halloween (and the spirit of giving) will take over the Financial District on Friday, October 28. Cactus Bar and Grill will hold an all-day celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. that benefits The Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Before Halloween was associated with candies and costumes, people once gave food to the poor on behalf of dead souls on Halloween. Cactus Bar and Grill will combine that old tradition with today’s way of feting the holiday – killer drink specials, spooktacular costumes, raffles, giveaways and to-die-for dishes. Drink specials for the night include $2 jello shots in festive flavors (candy apple, candy cider, orange and black liquorish) and $4 Blue Moon Winter Ale pints. Costumes are encouraged, as the Cactus Bar and Grill staff will be dressed to the nines.

Guests who bring in a canned good for The Greater Chicago Food Depository will receive a complimentary appetizer (menu listed below). Cash donations (purchase a paper pumpkin with your name on it) will also be accepted.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank, is a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year.
